Aprender japonês não é mais apenas importante para mim. É urgente!

Hoje é dia prá falar de hobbies... depois de uma postagem sobre minha 'coleção decorativa de moedas', deixa falar mais uma vez sobre meu estudo da Genealogia da família Sugayama. A minha família, é claro. Para mim, é natural que cada pessoa se interesse pela história do(s) seu(s) próprio(s) sobrenome(s), de sua própria família, de seus próprios ancestrais. Acredito que isto ajude a reforçar sentimentos de pertencimento e também a entender nosso lugar no mundo... Acredito, também, que sendo assim, ninguém gastaria tempo investigando a história de uma família que não seja a própria família. Certo? Errado. 


Estava um dia trabalhando quando fui abordada por uma pessoa do Japão, de nome Hidero Futakami, que acabou por se tornar um amigo muito querido. Ele é da região de Fukushima e escreveu um livro sobre a história da emigração da região de Fukushima para o Brasil. E, para minha surpresa, um dos personagens que ele estuda é justamente o meu bisavô paterno, Washizo Sugayama (ou, como costumo dizer, o pai do pai do meu pai). Eu já escrevi uma pequena biografia dele e um post... mas, na época, eu não sabia quase nada sobre ele. E, agora, depois de muitas conversas com este amigo não Sugayama que se interessa pela história da família Sugayama, aprendi muito mais.


Me perdoe meu bisavô pela expressão que vou suar agora. Me perdoem quem lê este blog, pelo mesmo motivo. Mas o cara era foda. O cara era O CARA. Tenho uma paixão e uma admiração por ele que ultrapassa os limites da razão... afinal, sequer o conheci... ou, se conheci, não tenho nem como lembrar pois ele faleceu quando eu tinha menos de três anos... mas soube através do meu amigo japonês que ele doou quantias significativas de dinheiro para os japoneses vítimas da bomba atômica em Nagasaki e Hiroshima, que ele ajudou a re-casar viúvas dos soldados que combateram na guerra... e que ele doou roupas para refugiados da guerra, além de açúcar. Ele me contou, também, que não ficou nenhum parente próximo em Fukushima, veio todo mundo pro Brasil... o único que, inicialmente, ficou por lá, foi meu avô, Makoto (pai do meu pai) mas depois de três anos, ele veio também para o Brasil.


Agora... alguém me explique... por que é que fui abandonar as aulas de nihongô? Quanto de história da minha família estou perdendo por não ser capaz de ler um texto em japonês? Por que é que este novo amigo surgiu somente agora, depois do acidente nuclear de Fukushima? Não fosse isso, eu estaria lá, antecipando em 30 anos a viagem que sonho fazer um dia...
